With a background in biology, an MFA in creative writing, and twenty years of experience as a high school teacher, Katherine knows a little bit about an awful lot. She also knows how to turn just about anything into a good story. If she can find a way to bring her love of 80s pop culture or her wry sense of humor into things, all the better.

In nonfiction, she enjoys anything scientific or historical, but she’s also fascinated with tales of true crime, biographies, and travel memoirs. That said, her innately curious and adventurous spirit means she’s willing to take on just about any genre.

She’s also drawn to science fiction and fantasy stories, the darker the better. Supernatural and psychological horror is her fictional first love. Add a strong, gritty female protagonist to the mix and she’s all in.

Katherine lives in coastal New England with her husband, her two kids, and Merlin, her rescue mutt.
